Hon’ble Home Minister Shri Rajnath Singh today inaugurated two forensic science labs, one at Bhopal and the other at Guwahati, built byNavratna CPSE NBCC (India) Ltd. at a cost of over Rs.100 crore.

The two Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) complexes at Bhopal and Guwahati are equipped with advanced features and will go a long way in providing scientific evidence to police and thus check pendency of cases in our courts.

Speaking on the occasion, NBCC Chairman-Cum-Managing Director (CMD) Dr Anoop Kumar Mittal said, “NBCC is proud to be associated with these CFSL projects. We had deployed our best manpower to make these projects an iconic development.”

“Forensic science labs at Bhopal and Guwahati will provide proactive assistance to law enforcement agencies in these states,” Dr Mittal said, adding that the State-of-art facilities will positively help the criminal justice system.

The complexes include CFSL main building that will house various scientific labs and departments, water and sewage treatment plants, solar hot water systems and ventilation systems among others. The built-up area of CFSL Guwahati building is 12352 sqm, and that of CFSL Bhopal is 13761.87 sqm.

The successful completion of these forensic complexes has added yet another feather to NBCC’s cap, which is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA).

The CPSE, a preferred partner of the central government, has been undertaking several significant projects like National Police Memorial in Delhi, NIA in Hyderabad & Guwahati, infrastructure projects in health and education sector, redevelopment projects, Office complexes of premier organisations such as CBI, CIC etc.

The company has recently acquired HSCC, formerly known as Hospital Services Consultancy Corporation and is involved in developing institutional and healthcare infrastructure projects. With this takeover, NBCC will strengthen its healthcare vertical and expertise. In 2017, NBCC had also acquired Hindustan Steel Works Construction (HSCL) – to strengthen its infrastructure and steel portfolio.
